You may have heard of STEM, and maybe even STEAM — but STE(AI)M™ is something new. At KALE, we believe that artificial intelligence isn't a future topic — it's a present reality that even our youngest learners should begin to understand through hands-on discovery, creative play, and thoughtful conversation.

Our STE(AI)M™ approach weaves AI concepts, robotics, coding, and problem-solving into everyday classroom moments — from counting patterns to building simple machines to understanding how programs make decisions. It's not about turning kids into engineers. It's about building curious, confident, adaptable thinkers who aren't afraid of hard questions.

Virginia's New ECCAP Law: What Working Parents Need to Know

Governor Spanberger signed HB18 and SB3 in May 2026 — creating the Employee Child Care Assistance Program (ECCAP), which took effect July 1, 2026. In plain terms: when your employer contributes to your childcare costs, the state of Virginia now matches those funds through the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation.

Small businesses with fewer than 50 employees receive priority access. If your HR team hasn't heard about this yet, you might be the one who tells them — and KALE can help your employer understand how to participate. This is real money back in your family's budget.

5 Ways to Support Your Child's Learning at Home This Summer

KALE is Open! What Our Grand Opening Week Looked Like

On April 20, 2026, Kids Academy of Learning & Excellence opened its doors at 601 Southlake Blvd in North Chesterfield, Virginia — and the first week exceeded every expectation we had for it. Families toured, children explored, and our educators began doing exactly what we designed KALE to do: know every child by name, by nature, and by need.

Our 10 classrooms span the full journey — from our nurturing infant suite to our STE(AI)M™ enrichment lab for school-age learners. We're grateful to the North Chesterfield community for an incredible welcome.
