What ages does KALE serve? +
KALE serves children from 6 weeks through 12 years old. Programs include infant care, young toddler care, toddler care, preschool, before and after school care, summer camp, Saturday STE(AI)M™ Labs, and KALE@Home.
What are your hours? +
KALE is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on major federal holidays. Our calendar aligns with Chesterfield County Public Schools for school-age families.
Where is KALE located? +
601 Southlake Blvd, North Chesterfield, VA 23236. We serve families from across Chesterfield County, Richmond, Midlothian, Colonial Heights, and surrounding areas.
What curriculum does KALE use? +
KALE uses the Experience Baby™ curriculum for infants, Experience Toddler™ for toddlers, and STEAM Stations™ for preschool and school-age. All programs are enriched with KALE’s proprietary STE(AI)M™ framework covering science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and AI literacy.
Are meals included? +
Yes. KALE participates in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are included daily at no extra charge to families. Parents do not need to pack food.
How do teachers communicate with parents? +
KALE uses Brightwheel for daily communication. Parents receive real-time photos, activity updates, feeding logs, diaper/sleep records, and developmental milestone notifications throughout the day. Download the free Brightwheel app before your child’s first day.
What is KALE’s teacher-to-child ratio? +
KALE follows Virginia DECS licensing requirements for teacher-to-child ratios by age group. Infant ratios are the most closely supervised. Contact us at 804-877-8785 for specific ratio information for your child’s age group.

How do I enroll my child at KALE? +
Start with a free tour. Call 804-877-8785 or visit abc123.kids/tour to request a tour. We’ll walk you through enrollment after your visit — there’s no pressure and no obligation.
What documents do I need to enroll? +
You will need your child’s birth certificate, current immunization records (Virginia Form 121), a completed enrollment application, signed tuition agreement, and a downloaded Brightwheel account. Additional documents may be required depending on your payment method.
How much does KALE cost? +
Tuition is weekly and varies by age group and schedule. KALE does not list pricing publicly — contact us at 804-877-8785 or visit our pricing page to request a quote. Subsidy and military fee assistance are both accepted.
Is there a waitlist? +
Yes, for some age groups — especially infants. We encourage families to tour and apply early. If the specific program you need is full, we will add you to our waitlist and contact you as soon as a seat opens. Visit our waitlist page to join.
