KALE accepts military child care fee assistance programs — including those administered through Child Care Aware® of America on behalf of the Department of Defense. Here's our Provider ID and exactly how to get your benefit applied at KALE.
Who This Covers
Which military families are eligible?
Military child care fee assistance is available to eligible active duty, Guard, and Reserve service members whose children are not enrolled in an on-installation Child Development Center (CDC). KALE is an off-installation provider accepting these programs.
🎖️ Active Duty
Active duty service members from all branches who need off-installation child care may be eligible for fee assistance through their branch's program administered by Child Care Aware® of America.
🏅 National Guard & Reserve
Guard and Reserve members may be eligible for fee assistance through the National Guard and Reserve Child Care (NGRCC) program, also administered through Child Care Aware® of America.
✈️ Air Force (MFSA)
Air Force families may use the Military Family Support Account (MFSA) or other Air Force-specific programs. Contact your installation Family Support Center for current program details.
⚓ Navy & Marine Corps
Navy and Marine Corps families may access fee assistance through the Navy Child Care in Your Neighborhood (CCYN) or Marine Corps Family Services programs.
🦅 Army (NACCRRA)
Army families may use Army-sponsored fee assistance programs through Child Care Aware® of America for off-post child care when on-post CDC spaces are unavailable.
🌊 Coast Guard
Coast Guard members may be eligible for fee assistance through Work-Life programs. Contact your Work-Life staff officer or Child Care Aware® for current availability.

Child Care Aware® of America administers most DoD fee assistance programs. They are your first point of contact to confirm eligibility, get your specific program details, and start your application.

Confirm Your Eligibility & Program
Child Care Aware® will verify your eligibility based on your branch, duty status, and income (some programs are income-based, others are not). They will tell you your approved subsidy amount and the terms of your benefit.
Select KALE as Your Provider
When Child Care Aware® asks you to name your child care provider, give them KALE's information:

Gather Your Documents
Have these ready for your Child Care Aware® application:
✅ Military ID or CAC card
✅ Proof of duty status (orders, command letter, or LES)
✅ Child's birth certificate
✅ Child's immunization records
✅ Social Security numbers for service member and child(ren)
✅ KALE Provider ID: 9250493
✅ Proof of income (if required by your program)
Notify KALE & Schedule Your Tour
Once your application is submitted or approved, contact KALE admissions right away. Call us at 804-877-8785 or email info@abc123.kids. Let us know you're applying for military fee assistance and we'll walk you through enrollment while your benefit processes.
Complete KALE Enrollment
Once your benefit is confirmed, we'll finalize your enrollment — tuition agreement, Brightwheel setup, and your child's first-day checklist. Child Care Aware® sends payment directly to KALE. You are responsible only for any applicable fee share.
