KALE follows all Virginia DECS health and safety requirements. Here’s a summary of our key health and safety policies.
Children must be fever-free (without fever-reducing medication) for 24 hours before returning to KALE. Children with contagious illnesses will be sent home. KALE will notify families of any communicable disease exposure in the classroom.
KALE follows Virginia DECS safe sleep guidelines for all infants. Every baby sleeps on a firm, flat surface in an assigned crib, on their back, with no loose bedding, bumpers, or soft objects.
KALE staff may only administer medication with a completed, signed Medication Authorization Form. Prescription medications require a current label with the child’s name. All medications must be brought in the original container.
KALE closes at 6:00 PM. Late pickup fees apply after 6:05 PM. Repeated late pickups may affect enrollment. Contact us as soon as possible if you will be late — call 804-877-8785.
