Big personalities. Tiny steps. Huge growth.
Sixteen to 24 months is one of the most exciting developmental windows in a child's life. Walking, talking, and figuring out the world — all at once. Our Young Toddler classroom is built to keep up.
VSU Classroom
Named after Virginia State University — celebrating curiosity, independence, and early language in a safe, active learning environment.
What Your Child Gets
Everything your child needs. Nothing they don't.
KALE's young toddlers program is built around the Whole-Child Development Framework — covering all 8 early learning domains through intentional, joyful, research-backed teaching every single day.
Language Explosion Support
We narrate everything. Teachers label, describe, and expand vocabulary all day — because 16–24 months is when language takes off fastest.
Safe Space for New Walkers
Wide open floor space with soft surfaces, low furniture for pulling up, and safe boundaries give early walkers room to build confidence.
Sensory & Art Exploration
Finger painting, sand play, water tables, and textured materials build fine motor skills and sensory integration — and they're just fun.
Early Social Learning
Side-by-side play with peers introduces sharing, turn-taking, and the beginning of friendships in a safe, guided setting.
Story & Song Time
Multiple read-alouds and music moments daily build vocabulary, phonological awareness, and a love of language from the start.
CACFP Meals Included
Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack included daily — nutritious, age-appropriate, and completely worry-free for families.
A Day in the Life
Structure that supports learning.
Predictable routines give children a sense of safety and belonging — the foundation for all learning. Here's what a typical day looks like.
